Concert Damin gambit, DEMM, Zmelkoow

They are a pop-rock band from Obala, which has been continuously shaking the stage in Slovenia for 35 years. All the while, they masterfully navigate between (self-)ironic criticism of the modern world, existential questions, glorification of the bizarre and crazy glee. And they do all this in a very peculiar, intelligent, inimitable way and, above all, with sincerity. They are the authors of numerous hits, such as: Bit (The Meaning of Life), Sentiš-ordinary, YO!, What Are We Missing?, Hello Sunshine, When I Look at This Sky), Batman, Naughty Guests, Gravity (The More We Drink, the Better We Be), etc. This year, they released their 11th album entitled PLUS, which was the first in the world to be released on/in a can.

The Lady's Gambit, a band from Nova Gorica, was formed in 1987. From the very beginning, the quintet decided to create original music. In 1989, they recorded their first song, Janez Povej, at the Metro studio in Ljubljana, and drew attention to themselves through the then radio-newspaper campaign "Dejmo, naši". In 1994, the band released their debut album entitled The Queen's Gambit on the Arthea label, followed by a second album in 1998, titled Luna z vode.

The band toured continuously from 1987 to 2001, when it simply went on its own. Perhaps the main reason for this was the fact that the guitarist and ideological leader of the band, David Šinigoj, temporarily moved to Belgrade. In 2017, the Queen's Gambit will be on stage again, as invitees on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Mostovna club in Nova Gorica. Then, and even more so during COVID, the band members agree to prepare, record, and release a new album. In the spring of 2022, they will go to the Hendrix Studio of Radio Koper, where they will record and finish an album entitled The Smell of Spring over the next three years.
