What do I communicate with my clothes? Do I want to be a traveling advertisement for big brands or do I prefer to communicate my own principles and creativity? How do I use quality pants with an ingenious pattern that unfortunately don't fit my ass? What do I do with clothes that I adore, but there is a stain on them that doesn't want to go away, a hole that is too obvious or they are simply boring and need something personal and special? How to revive your wardrobe in a sympathetic way in a creative company and create your favorite pieces? Mentor: sustainable designer Maja Modrijan ; Distiller
Location: MCP Youth Center Postojna (Vilharjeva ulica 14, Postojna)
Schedule: 6 consecutive Wednesdays with the exception of holidays, 17-20h, from 21.10 to 2.12.2026
Participants: adults and young people over 15 years of age with their own sewing machine (exceptionally, it is possible to rent the machine for the duration of the workshops in the Distiller)
Set of 6 workshops of 3 hours each: 150 eur (payment is possible in two parts)

A connected set of six workshops for renewing, adapting and personalizing your wardrobe in style. Not in any particular style. Everyone has their own. Or they will finally or even better shape it during the workshops. Through textile creation and accompanying group debates.

The topics of our meetings will be creative repairs, diversification and upgrading of textiles (printing, sewing, hand and machine embroidery, macrame knotting, etc.), cutting and making new clothes (sewing and simple tailoring), designing accessories (badges, patches, simple bags). We will focus on designing or refining our own style by renovating our existing wardrobe. We will combine different techniques, learn practical tricks and acquire knowledge that comes in handy in everyday life. To find ourselves. To be (handy). To create.

Each participant brings their own pieces of clothing that they want to repair, transform, diversify or remake into something else. They also bring their own sewing machine with them, because they are most used to working with it or I can help them fit even better. There will be clothes to be processed, various pieces of fabric and other materials to create, and a powerful sewing machine with different functional and decorative stitches, and the possibility of embroidering inscriptions for more specific endeavors.
 

The workshops will be held in a small group so that all participants receive individual help and advice. Although the emphasis is on the participants' own wardrobes, where everyone works on their own selected projects, the workshops will be active social gatherings. A creative community of unique people. The program will be adapted to the wishes and abilities of the participants on an ongoing basis.

* It is desirable that you attend the entire set, as this is the only way you can make the most of the course and continue and upgrade your work. Exceptionally, it will be possible to visit an individual workshop if the group is not full.
